Ingredients
Instructions
Air fryer:204°C / 399°F

Preheat the air fryer to 204°C/400°F for 3 minutes if your model preheats. Keep the hash brown patties frozen until cooking.
Place the frozen hash brown patties in a single layer in the basket or on the tray. Do not stack them; cook in batches if needed.
Air fry at 204°C/400°F for 5–6 minutes, then flip carefully with a thin spatula once the patties have firmed up.
Continue air frying for 5–6 minutes more, until the patties are crisp, browned at the edges, and steaming hot in the center.
For extra-crispy or thicker Ore-Ida-style or restaurant-style patties, add 1–3 minutes. If cooking 3–4 patties in a smaller basket, expect the longer end of the range.
Season lightly after cooking, if desired, and serve right away while crisp.
Tips & tricks
- Can you air fry frozen hash brown patties? Yes—cook them straight from frozen for the best shape and texture.
- No oil is needed for most commercial frozen patties because they usually already contain oil. A very light spray is optional only if you want deeper browning.
- For McDonald’s-style hash brown patties in the air fryer, use the same 204°C/400°F setting and cook until crisp, adding a minute or two if they are thicker.
- Frozen hash browns in the air fryer cook differently when loose and shredded; this timing is for formed patties only.
- If the centers seem soft or cool, spread the patties farther apart and cook 1–2 minutes longer.
