Air Fryer Frozen Garlic Bread: Texas Toast, Slices, and Baguette Timing

Frozen garlic bread is one of the easiest air-fryer sides because it goes in straight from the freezer and crisps quickly. Use 190°C as the everyday setting for most slices and Texas toast, with a slightly longer cook for thick baguette pieces.

After step 2
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 190°C for 3 minutes. If your air fryer does not require preheating, add 1 extra minute to the first batch and check early.

  2. Place frozen garlic bread in a single layer, buttered side up. Do not overlap. For a frozen garlic baguette or loaf, cut it into sections if needed so air can circulate.

  3. Air fry plain frozen garlic bread slices for 5–7 minutes, or until the edges are crisp and the center is hot.

  4. Air fry frozen Texas toast for 4–7 minutes. For cheesy Texas toast, keep cheese side up and do not flip.

  5. Air fry a frozen garlic baguette or thicker loaf sections for 7–10 minutes, checking the center for heat before serving.

  6. For extra crispness on non-cheesy slices only, flip during the final 1–2 minutes. Skip flipping any bread topped with cheese or loose garlic butter.

  7. Remove with tongs and let stand for 1 minute before serving, as garlic butter and cheese can be very hot. Follow any package instruction that says to cook thoroughly or heat to a specific internal temperature.

Tips & tricks

  • Start checking 1–2 minutes early because garlic, butter, and cheese can brown fast in compact air fryers.
  • Cook in batches if the bread will not fit in one layer; stacked pieces steam and turn soft.
  • If the edges brown before the middle is hot, lower the temperature to 170°C and cook 2–3 minutes longer.
  • If cheese starts to lift or slide, press it gently back onto the toast after cooking, not during the cycle.
  • No thawing is needed; thawed garlic bread may cook faster and can become greasy.
